Our Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Real Life Church | SC based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

Alternative Lifestyles

Doctrinal Statement on Human Sexuality and Holiness

Real Life Church is a long standing member of Rhema Ministerial Association International (RMAI). As such, we hold to the authority of Scripture and the Spirit-led principles taught through the Rhema legacy. We are committed to proclaiming the whole counsel of God’s Word with clarity, compassion, and conviction.

Our Position on Alternative Lifestyles

In light of Romans 1:2632, we believe Scripture clearly teaches that certain behaviors when they go against Gods design are not in alignment with His will. These include, but are not limited to, sexual relationships outside the covenant of biblical marriage (which is between one man and one woman), as well as same-sex relations, which are described in Romans 1 as unnatural and degrading passions.

For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural... and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. Romans 1:2627

While the Bible does not single out one sin over another indeed, Romans 1:2931 lists a wide range of behaviors that dishonor God it does call all people to repentance and transformation through faith in Jesus Christ.

Our Commitment to Love and Truth

We want to be absolutely clear: we do not hate anyone. In fact, we believe love must be the driving force behind everything we do (John 13:35). However, love does not mean agreement or affirmation of every choice. True love, the kind Jesus modeled, speaks the truth even when it's uncomfortable and invites people into freedom, not bondage.

We love those who are trapped in sin any sin and our doors are open to all who seek hope, healing, and transformation. But we cannot condone or support any lifestyle that contradicts the teachings of Gods Word. To do so would be unloving and dishonest.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived... such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified... 1 Corinthians 6:911

Our Pursuit of Holiness

We strive to worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness (Psalm 96:9). Holiness is not legalism, nor is it perfectionism it is simply the desire to be set apart for Gods purposes, to reflect His character, and to honor Him with our bodies and our lives.

We are not self-righteous. We are people who were once broken, lost, and in need of a Savior and we still are wholly dependent on His grace every day. Were not better than anyone. But we are committed to becoming more like Jesus.

In Summary

- We affirm that every person is made in the image of God and is worthy of dignity and love.
- We believe that God's design for sexuality and identity is good, intentional, and unchanging.
- We reject hatred, bullying, or mistreatment of any person.
- We do not support or affirm lifestyles that are inconsistent with Scripture.
- We invite all people to discover hope and freedom in Christ, who is able to save, heal, and restore.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind... Romans 12:2

GOD

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

REVELATION

God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.

MANKIND

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.

THE FALL

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.

Discipleship

We prioritize the practice of discipling others in the faith, helping them to grow in their understanding of the Bible and their relationship with God.

SALVATION

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.

THE CHURCH

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

THE RESSURECTION

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.
