He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
The key is to dwell in the shelter with God. When we dwell, we rest. When we rest, God can work. He can be all of what Psalm 91 has promised if we let him. If you are in the secret place, don’t stick your hand out and caress your problem once more, leave it alone and allow the Lord to be your refuge.
Your cares are dead weight to you, they cause hindrances and blockages in your life. What can you do with dead weight, nothing! God can’t even move on your behalf unless you give him permission to do so, he is not going to make you give him what concerns you. He’s just going to patiently wait for you to get tired enough to deliver them. I suggest you do it sooner rather than later.
Let me tell you, freedom feels gooooooood. I recently cut inches off my hair and my head feels so lite. It’s amazing how when you get rid of something you see how much mobility you have, how your viewpoint has better vantage points. Release your weights and see how far you fly. Let that sink in. Lately, I’ve become more aware that all my needs are supplied. So instead of telling God what I need, I tell him what I want. And guess what, He does NOT disappoint. Why did I share that, it’s a form of freedom? When I’m not concentrating on what I need for this or that, I can focus on what I’m called to do, I can enjoy life, I can just…be! I am able to see things more clearly. For instance, my discernment has strengthened and the decisions I make are more efficient and effective and my peace is on a whole nother level. The waves of life do crash at times. However, the more I dwell in the word, the more I rest in Christ, the more none of these things move me. I’ve noticed that the things that used to ruffle me, don’t any longer…advantages of the secret place.
How Do I Find Freedom in Christ?
But first, a question?
Did you know that water is wet? I know it’s kinda silly right but it’s a word in itself. When water touches you or anything for that matter, what it touches becomes wet. Think of water as the problems, the arrows that fly by night, harm, the cares of this world. If you fail to remain under an umbrella or a shelter, you will become wet. If you fail to abide in the shelter of the Most High, you will become burdened by the cares of this world. Your concentration will be on your needs and the what if’s of life. It is imperative for you, like myself, to find your freedom by resting in the shadow of the Almighty. Trust me, it’s worth it. Spending time with God is paramount to finding freedom. Believing what God’s word says is paramount to gaining freedom.
Think of it this way, Satan is defeated, you’re on the winning team, you just have to go through the motions of life while resting in God until you reach the Father in heaven. Let freedom reign in your life, all you have to do is dwell in the shelter of the Most High.
